We have so many problems in this country and we need healing! These kids need healing! They are our future and they can either be a part of the solution or part of the problem. It is up to YOU and how they are treated that will decide! If they are treated like criminals they will become criminals! If you choose to help them by treating them like the victims they are then they can heal and lead productive lives! Please help these kids because they are our future!
The children you know and see everyday have a $$$ reward stamped on their head. Keep them safe by watching even when you are not with your own children.
At an amusement park I watched as a mother and grandmother chatted away. They had no idea where their daughter had gone to wait for her next ride.
An abductor can use a situation like this and have a child out of the park before the parent knews anything has happened.
Open your eyes. It is happening in your community everyday. Our children, our business.
As a member of Soroptimist International, dedicated to bettering the lives of women and girls, I encourage and support you in this effort to bring awareness and assistance to the many thousands of victimized children in our country. While it may not be possible to completely eliminate those who exploit others, it is well within our reach to provide help to those who so desparately need it.
I cannot believe that this even requires thought by our politicians. Absolutely no child should be exploited in any way. People responsible for these actions should be put in jail for life without the possibility of parole. With all the money we waste on wars it is disgraceful that our politicians look the other way when our children are being abused, drugged, jailed for minor offenses and undereducated. Shame on you. It is time to break out of the play it safe life and get on with actually caring about the citizens of this country, especially the vulnerable.
Senators: This is a major problem in all the big and small towns in Washington State as well as down the I-5 corridor. We must do all we can to help the victims.
Each year an estimated 100,000 children are exploited through sex trafficking in the U.S. Runaway and homeless children are especially vulnerable to this abuse. Sex trafficked children come from every ethnic and economic background and every state. Unfortunately, there are very few programs and shelters prepared to help exploited children stabilize and recover. These children have mental and physical health needs as a result of the violence they endure.
Additionally, the criminals who sexually assault and exploit children rarely receive punishment for their crimes. The “Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking Deterrence and Victims Support Act of 2011” (S.596) was introduced by Senator Wyden (D-OR) and Senator Cornyn (R-TX) in March.
It currently awaits action in the Senate Judiciary Committee. S.596 will provide funding to six locations around the country to build a comprehensive response for sex trafficked children. Through competitive grants, these funds will support services and shelter to victims. They will also provide much needed assistance to law enforcement and prosecutors to investigate and punish offenders.
Please urge your senators to co-sponsor and support S.596 and help put an end to the sex trafficking of children in the United States.
Those monsters who abuse, buy and sell children are getting away with muder - physical, spiritual, and emotional murder- and should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. They are the eiptome of evil - torturing innocents- and the death penalty is too good for them. Do away with the pimps and johns and the problem will disappear. Hopefully, this law will help to do just that!
As a member of Soroptimist International of the America's which mission is to improve the lives of women and girls, I encourage you to support S.569. We have to start taking action in stopping the exploitation of children. I ask you to please support S.569.
As a psychologist working in the school and with multitible agenies in Curry county and the state of Oregon, we must work together to stop the trafficking and slavery of children and adolescents.
Please support the bill.
Thank you for all you have done to stop human trafficking. I urge to continue your work and actively work with the other senators to help stop this horrible tragedy which is occurring everyday in Oregon, the United States, and the world.
As a member or Soroptimist International I have been able to learn about this sort of abuse as well as many other types affecting helpless women and children. If we help stand up with our government officials then hopefully the message is more prominent in our communities.
I appreciate your co-sponsorship of this bill, S.596. It's a tragedy that we have this problem in our nation and we must do whatever is necessary to help the victims of this horrible crime. Please do your magic with the US Senate and get the word out among the senators. Lack of awareness is a big part of the problem and the more who know about this travesty the closer we are to finding a solution. Thanks for your time.
As a foster parents for just 4 years our family has been on the front lines of the most vulnerable girls in our communities. We understand just some of the self-esteem issues that these young girls face and the lack of a father figure that is so common to their situation. They need new laws to protect them and minimize the power of the perpetrators. Please protect our young women and young men!

I can think of no more important cause.

If we truly believe our children are out future we must respond with action or our rhetoric is without any substance.
