I work in The Dalles at the high school and with all the all the cuts that have been made to education in the last few years we really need some place for our kids to get the hands on skills they need to suceed. This year alone our schook cut all wood shop, welding, metals, half of out art dept. and ITS. We need people with these skills. None of us want to do our own plumbing or carpentry work.
