In a discussion devoted to the college grad debt load on NPR’s Diane Rehm show on September 22, Victor Sanchez, president of U. S. Student Association, identified some solutions: one, Sen. Sherrod Brown’s proposal to give graduates a limited time to convert private-sector loans into federal loans and second, provide more government funding for grants bucking the trend of increased reliance on loans.
