Big Government, Better-Off Kids

Here’s the big story, and the little known fact. Kids are better off today – as reflected in lower crime, alcohol and substance use, and teenage pregnancy rates, and higher educational achievement – than they were thirty years ago, in large part because of public spending on effective programs.
