My vision is to create a Super PAC build to lesson the influences of other Super PACs have on the general public. It would not be affiliated with any one party, candidate, or stance. Instead the goal of the Fact Super PAC would be to interject facts and reliable research into political campaigns in a very public manner.
Ads that are run by candidates, or the Super PACs supporting those candidates, which contain false or misleading information will be met with additional advertising stating the facts of the situation and how those ads deviated from the facts. This will be done regardless of the political stance of the initial ad, hopefully giving our voice credibility in the eyes of all voters. We can partner with organizations like politifact and factcheck to give honesty a stronger more public voice in the media.
More importantly by using crowd sourcing for our content, it would remove the barrier of entry for young people wanting to get involved in journalism. They could seek out ads, speeches, and other misleading information put out by candidates, do the research independently to prove their case and submit it for review and publication. We would also want young people involved in the creation of the media in order to create a message that speaks to the voting youth of the country, letting them know that with knowledge comes power. We can provide the factual knowledge and deliver it to them, it will be up to them to spark the power.
I am a musician, comedian, business owner, web developer, and entrepreneur. I have worked hard to do the things I love and I am a sucker for when other people tell me about their dreams. I believe that the most important thing to success is the first step. The most important thing is to move forward with whatever it is you want to be doing.
With that said, I believe we are in a political climate that is geared toward trying to convince people that there is no alternative for them. To sit on their hands because of a lack of choice, that their vote won't matter, and that it is better to give up and complain than waste time, effort, and votes on a candidate that "has no chance of winning".
