The Federal Full Employment Program (FFEP), more commonly known amongst Economists as "Employer of Last Resort," is a federally funded nation-wide program that would fill needs in grassroots communities by employing people to complete these much needed jobs and provide them with a suitable living-wage. The program would be run by community organizers and businesses, hospitals, schools, etc. could apply for a certain number of workers and workers enrolled in the program would complete these tasks for a predetermined wage. For example, a school may need tutors. It would ask for 5 FFEP workers and enter into a process to receive suitable, local applicants. Or, a community may need some park renovations; this program could suit those needs too. Of course, businesses and organizations would have to apply for this new type of grant, but rather than giving money, the government would provide labor - aiding both the business and the unemployed individual. This would be a grassroots program, so it would be run by an individual in the community. Additionally, the living wage supplied through this program would have to be higher than the currant minimum wage, which would force the national minimum wage standards to increase.
