Prezi: What is Sequestration and Why Does it Matter?
For the federal budget, the debt limit deal in the summer of 2012 called for automatic, across-the-board spending cuts to discretionary programs over the next decade. If Congress doesn’t act before January 2013, critical education, income and health programs will receive a devastating 7-9 percent funding cut under sequestration.
