This week, May 16-20th, over 350 friends of afterschool programs are in Washington, DC, for the Afterschool For All Challenge.

Support their efforts by asking your Members of Congress to support afterschool programs. Budget bills for the next fiscal year (2012) are now being debated and voted on in Congress. Among the areas targetted for funding reductions are education programs, and therefore afterschool and summer learning programs.

Now is the time to make the case for support and funding of school and community based before-school, afterschool and summer learning programs that inspire learning, keep kids safe and help working families.
