The Other Achievement Gap is the focus of my senior thesis research at Mills College. I hope to disagregate data on persistance through community college in California by socioeconomic status, and identify momentum points and loss points for disadvantaged students. I hope that this research and data will reflect the need for policy which supports low income students in higher education, including but not limited to affirmative action programs based on socioeconomic status. I will further explore the economic benefits of long term equity and support for students from low income families.
