Our idea is called The Teen Age. The Teen Age will be a safe haven for teens within the City of Philadelphia. We figured the teenagers of our city need such a place, seeing as there is little to do for people our age and very few places for us to just hangout, socialize, and work collectively as young people. Within our safe haven we will have a student run resource center. There we will provide work etiquette training, activities, career building, workshops, and resume building. Within The Teen Age there will also be food, music, and a computer lab for use of the students. This teen lounge will be completely student run. This will be a place where teens can better themselves by gaining work experience as well as building a network.
Hi, I'm Mailisa Crews. I'm a Chief Youth Ambassador for the Philadelphia Youth Network. With the help of my fellow Youth Ambassadors, I advocate for the best interests of Philadelphia's young people. Our team helps other young people get ready for jobs as well as get their points across to the movers and shakers in our society. My primary focus as chief is to be there for my team whenever needed and my team's job is to be there for the youth of our city. Through workshops and think tanks we help young people learn what is needed to get ahead in the world and design programs that would help them do so. All in all, our primary focus is to see Philadelphia's young people become a world class workforce for the region.
