Teenager Writes About ‘Crushing Weight of College Debt’
This week, The New York Times is publishing a series on student debt that includes articles, video and interactive graphics, as well as an invitation to write in to tell about how student debt has affected your life. On Tuesday, we published a lesson plan full of ideas for using the series in the classroom.
Here they add a personal essay from a high school senior about how the prospect of debt is affecting his future plans.The author — George Edwards, 17, a senior at Vanguard High School in New York City — comes to us from Youth Communication, a New York City organization that publishes true stories by teenagers, and lesson plans for teachers.
