Tell Congress to Support Working Families
Congress will be dealing with the expiring tax cuts after the November election. We cannot let them ignore working families when they do. As part of the economic recovery bill (ARRA) in 2009, the Child Tax Credit (CTC) was expanded for people making between $3,000 and $13,000. The Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) was also expanded to help married couples and families with 3 or more children.
These credits encourage work and help working parents meet their financial responsibilities. Unfortunately, the ARRA changes will expire at the end of this year. This would be devastating to low-income children and families; 7 million people could lose all or part of their credits.
Contact your senators and representatives TODAY. Urge them to tell House and Senate leaders to put working families first!
