U.S. to Grant Waivers for No Child Left Behind

With officials from many states saying they can’t meet the standards of the federal No Child Left Behind education law, the Obama administration plans to issue waivers excusing them from some of the law’s requirements. The No Child Left Behind law demands that states sharply increase student test results or risk lose federal dollars.
