United States Student Association (USSA) President Lindsay McCluskey issued an official statement regarding the Senate’s action on the Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors (DREAM) Act.

The Senate is scheduled to vote on cloture (a parliamentary procedure aimed to quickly end debate) for the defense authorization bill. If the cloture vote passes, the DREAM Act amendment itself will be voted on soon after. Here are some ways for folks to take action on the DREAM Act as the vote grows closer:

1.    Call your Senators at 1-888-254-5087, and request a 'yes' vote on the cloture motion on Tuesday, a 'yes' vote on the DREAM Act amendment, and a speech on the senate floor in support of DREAM.
2.    Submit a Letter to the Editor to your local papers urging the passage of DREAM.
3.    Send a letter to your Senators urging a 'yes' vote on the DREAM Act amendment.
4.    Stay connected and engaged to the DREAM actions taking place all over the country. Text DREAM or SUENO to 69866 to get updates about the DREAM Act this week.
