The USSA says the student choice between the President’s budget and the House proposed budget is clear: Under the President’s budget, the maximum Pell Grant would be set at $5,550 with infused funds from other parts of the program receiving cuts. The Republican’s Continuing Resolution would reduce the maximum Pell Grant award by $845, a year’s worth of textbooks or transportation costs.
