Y.S.W.A.G. stands for Y Student With Ambition to Grow. The program is designed to train youth for job and volunteer opportunities in the local community. Not only does the training build resumes, but it also helps students realize to their true potential.
As the video said, the planning for YSWAG started over a year ago. Throughout the year, which included many meetings for planning, YSWAG came together and the YSWAG team created a program that 15 students attended in the end of April. Ultimately, YSWAG came about because of the YSWAG team's experience with the YMCA. We had such a positive experience working in YMCA programs that we wanted to give other area students the opportunity to take part in the memorable experience of working with the YMCA. We hope to grow the YSWAG program to offer multiple training throughout the year. There are already plans to put on four more YSWAG training program days in the month of October and the YSWAG team needs funding to achieve that goal.
