Action Alert: Thank Congress for Getting the JJDPA Youth Justice Bill Done

December 19, 2018

UPDATE: After 16 years, the bipartisan Juvenile Justice & Delinquency Prevention Act (JJDPA) was reauthorized on December 13, 2018! Learn more.

Please take a moment to thank your Members of Congress for renewing the JJDPA, the main federal law that sets standards and protections for youth in state juvenile justice programs and helps states reform their juvenile justice approaches to better align with what data and emerging brain science show are better for kids and keep communities safer. This bill will protect vulnerable youth across the country. This is a critical time in the justice reform movement, and the JJDPA will maintain policies that will help to fight racial inequality, keep children out of adult jails and make sure they aren't detained for minor status offenses, and more.

You helped us ask Congress to take the final step to pass this reauthorization and together, we all got it done for youth! Now, please use our alert below to send a personal note of thanks for this unanimous bipartisan bill.
