Adult Roles in Youth Activism

How do young people even begin to become such activists as those profiled in this article and what happens when some youth are given the space to share their diverse opinions in a public forum and others are not? To answer these questions, we will explore adult roles in youth activism. While it?s true that young people have a great capacity for creating change, when adults take responsibility for guiding that process, the possibilities are endless. Adults who cast aside preconceived ideas and come to the table with a real sense of partnership offer the needed resources and encouragement that can allow a young person to make lasting social and community changes benefiting the entire community
