www.ed.gov/free
is an extremely useful site for researching a plethora of youth-related subjects, providing links to hundreds of websites run by federal agencies. The links are organized by topics such as “Health and Safety,” which includes drug prevention sites, “Physical Education” and “Education Technology,” which includes Internet guide sites for parents. A “More for Students” section provides links to almost 100 kids’ sites from a variety of federal departments, including Labor, Defense and Agriculture.
