The Oklahoma Institute for Child Advocacy (OICA) acts as a messenger for youth to change programs and policies that affect all children, in particular vulnerable youth. In short, OICA advocates for youth at various levels including: state legislatures, the media, and communities to change public attitude from a deficit-based to an asset-based orientation toward youth. Teen pregnancy prevention is a main focus of effort in which OICA provides training on positive youth development and resource information about networking to help prevention personnel use asset-based language and strategies in their programs
