Invitation to Ready by 21 Campaign Planning Meeting - March 4, 2004, NYC

The Forum for Youth Investment
February 1, 2004

The Ready by 21 Campaign
Corporate Planning Session

Too many young people are reaching age 21 without the skills, experiences, connections and resources needed to complete the transition to adulthood. The Ready by 21 Campaign, spearheaded by the Forum for Youth Investment, asks business, nonprofits, government officials, advocates and young people themselves to come together to:
v Increase public demand for smarter investments in young people
v Strengthen the capacity of those working for change
v Demonstrate real success in selected cities and states

Senior level officials from Fortune 500 companies and their foundations that have already made a commitment to improving the lives of children and youth.

An opportunity to learn about the mission and design of the Ready by 21 Campaign and provide critical feedback on strategies for corporate involvement and corporate outreach.

March 4, 2004, 11:00 A.M.-3:30 P.M.

Time Warner Foundation, New York Office, 75 Rockefeller Plaza,
New York, NY 10019

Directly and indirectly, corporations bear the cost of young people not being ready by 21. While many individual corporations already invest in programs and communities, the return on these investments would be greater if coupled with efforts to build public demand and leverage public resources.

The Forum for Youth Investment will schedule short individual calls with attendees prior to the meeting to ensure that their time is well spent.
