Review of extended-day and after-school programs and their effectiveness

This report summarizes the evaluation results from a wide range of types of after-school programs, including language arts programs, study skills programs, academically oriented programs, tutoring programs to improve reading, and community-based programs. The report features correlational studies of environmental issues in extended school-day and after-school programs, describes components of an effective after-school program, and concludes by discussing implications. The appendix includes contact information and information about each of the individual programs reviewed.
