Student Voices on the Higher Education Pathway

In recent focus groups community college students expressed some frustration that without clearly defined goals and a clear understanding of how to get there, higher education was too difficult and expensive. On the other hand, a number expressed hesitation at being forced to focus too quickly. Many felt that more specific information on what they needed for their career goal, the importance of placement testing, and help choosing the right courses was essential but not so easy to find.

This video below follows community college students as they talk about what helps and hinders them in their college experience. The video community college students' questions, concerns and experiences at the forefront in order to provoke our thinking, raise questions, and spark conversations and action planning for student success. How can community colleges improve the roadmap and help students realize their goals?
