The focus of this manual is young people reflecting on their employment experiences. It advocates that youth employment programs be more than short-term work at minimum wage pay. Instead, these programs are opportunities for vocational, cognitive, personal and social growth, skill development, and contribution. This resource is designed for program directors and employment supervisors who strive to provide meaningful work and learning experiences for their young employees. This book describes the philosophical elements of reflective experiences and suggests ways to incorporate these into existing or new programs. Sample activities for reflection and evaluation forms are included.
