Jairus CaterWatch Jairus Cater -- a first-gen student at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville -- talk about the importance of that very first job. A Nashville native, Jairus has served as a National Youth Ambassador for the White House Council for Community Solutions and co-chair of the Nashville Mayor's Child and Youth Master Plan. But he got his start bagging groceries. He knows how important workforce exposure is as students try to channel passions into eventual pay checks.
