Webinar: How State and Local Advocates Stopped Cutbacks and Achieved Successes

July 23, 2012

With federal and state governments slashing programs and proposing deep cuts in funding, important early learning programs are vulnerable. Even while we work to defend existing investments in these tough times, we also need to look for opportunities to make improvements in the child care and early learning programs that play such an important role in children and families' lives.

To update you on recent efforts to protect and strengthen child care and early learning programs, the National Women's Law Center and CLASP are planning a conference call  for state and local advocates on some success stories.

In this webinar, experienced state and local advocates from California, Illinois, Iowa, New Jersey and New York will talk about the ways they managed to turn back proposals to cut child care and early learning investments and make some progress. All of our speakers have helpful insights and knowledge to share from their successes in defeating proposals for harmful cuts to child care and early education funding or in leading efforts to improve policies.
