When Traditional Disciplinary Actions Don’t Work, Restorative Justice Can Bring About the Healing Process

Nationwide, schools are turning to restorative justice for disciplinary measures rather than old methods like suspensions and expulsions which, often times, are ineffective and further disengage students from school. While older methods focus on punishment, restorative justice relies on open dialouge and respect to heal the harm inflicted both personally and community-wide.
