The ublic is increasingly beginning to recognize and value the positive effects that high-quality out-of-school time experiences have on children, youth and communities. The range of potential benefits linked to these experiences, such as better peer relations, emotional adjustment, conflict resolution skills, and conduct in school has led to unprecedented levels of public and private funding toward the rapid expansion of out-of-school time opportunities across the United States.
