Success Beyond 18: Helping Youth Aging out of the Foster Care System

May 6, 2013

The Jim Casey Youth Opportunities Initiative has launched Success Beyond 18, a campaign help young people all around the country who are aging out of the foster care system to find opportunities for success.

Too many young adults across the country leave foster care each year without families and the opportunities they need to help them succeed. As a result, they are more likely than their peers to drop out of school, become parents before they are ready, experience homelessness, or end up in jail—costly consequences that affect us all.

We can’t wait to act, and we don’t have to. Success Beyond 18 aims to change the status quo and give young people in foster care better opportunities to succeed in family, work, and life.

In bringing states and communities together to make better choices and help kids in foster care build better adult lives, this campaign is working to make progress when the time is right.
