House Bill Defeated, but Message Remains Unchanged

On June 27, the US House of Representatives rejected the latest immigration bill (HR 6136, the Border Security and Immigration Reform Act) by a vote of 121-301. "No" voters included 112 Republicans and 189 Democrats. It is unclear whether Congress will return to this issue before the midterm elections.
